Wow, I love your house. The paintings are so sweet. They really do look nice in your home. It is great how they compliment each other.
ReplyDeleteAlmost like they were from the same artist. Love them.
The paintings are lovely and you certainly have a collection. You have a beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteThey make me happy too. Such a good idea to look for second hand paintings. I haven't even though about looking for them at thrift and antique stores etc. Now this is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI too snap up paintings when I see them and rarely spent more than 10.00.

All those paintings add such a sweet touch to your house, Hilary. And to hang them outside on a porch--that's a stroke of genius. Will definitely remember that as I work on spiffing up my screened-in porch. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend. :)

They are all so sweet, Hilary! Just thinking of the people who painted them...were they young? Old? Farmer's wife? Historian? Your collection is truly amazing and you have hung them in just the perfect places around your home! :)

Such pretty paintings and such a sweet home...thanks for sharing the joy! Happy new week. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Hilary, I come from a Family of Artists and then happened to marry one, so I have a great deal of appreciation for paintings. I love what you said, that they make you happy and you wish the artist knew, how very sweet of you! I think every artist wants to hear that:)
ReplyDeleteI found a lovely tiny tiny oil painting the other day on one of my flea market hunts, and I painted the frame, added ribbon to make it a drawernament, or doornament, hung it on the knob of a drawer and it's adorable. It was signed simply "wanda". And I wish she knew how much I enjoy it.
Love your collection!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home you have!! I love all those art pieces, so fun and vintage :)
ReplyDeleteI adore your collected art! They are all so charming!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I am a fan of collecting old flea market paintings too! Thank you for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday! :)
ReplyDeleteArt is wonderful to collect. Your home is so cute! Love your white theme.
ReplyDeleteI have visited your blog before and am glad I found it once again. Your paintings are charming and so is what you've done with your home. I'm a new follower.
ReplyDelete(Google is giving me issues with commenting this week.)
your blog is full of inspiration, love it-Im your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteI love your paintings too! I'd much rather have a piece of unique art like those than a manufactured piece any day.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading an article about flea market paintings in a magazine years ago (I probably still have it in my massive stash-o-magazines, LOL) they called them "Sunday's Art". The article said they were called that because they were done by "amateur" artist as a hobby, often on Sundays....thus the name.
I personally have a strong affinity towards old paint by numbers. I have no idea why. In some ways they are cheesy...but I think it's their simplicity that has always appealed to me.
